Against all that I believe about feeding my kids, Scott came up with a brilliant idea to sample (and rank) all of the classic Hostess products as a family. It all started one day when we were talking in the car about the Hostess treats of our childhood- and our kids had no idea what we were talking about. So of course we had to buy one of each, sample them and rank them from favorite to least (we tried Ding Dongs, Snowballs, Zingers, Cupcakes, Fruit pie (blackberry), and Ho Hos). ughh- even listing all of that makes me gag- but it was fun.
Here are the #1's:
Elle: Ding Dong
Cameron: Ding Dong
Davis: Snowball
Courtney: Fruit pie
Scott: Fruit pie
What is your favorite?

A couple years ago, I thought I was being a cool mom and bought the ding dongs. The kids did not know what they were and weren't that into them. They might like that little taste test though. I am definitely not into the fruit pie. But I do like the snowballs. How strange.
oh how funny! my favorite was definitely the blackberry pie. in fact i think i may have to go track one down today! :)
Did you warm the fruit pie up before you ate it? Not a big fan of Hostess treats (shhh, don't tell my dad, he works for them), but, when I was a kid I liked the fruit pies warmed up.
That's so fun! I'm a ding dong lover by far! I LOVE chocolate!!
Oh I haven't had a fruit pie in ages! Yes, I'd have to say that would be my number 1 choice too, though I don't think my kids know the taste of any of those either!
What a cute idea, my kids have no idea what a Hostess treat is either. Once they wanted Snowballs and I told them they were gross. What about a twinkie is that Hostess?
BTW... even with the right tools it was still super nasty. :)
You missed the best one....twinkies!!!
Holy cow...I can't believe this post is on Courtney Rasband's blog. I am so proud of you guys. I do have to say that even though I am the one who introduced Davis to Cheetoh's first I can safely say that my kids have never partaken anything from the Hostess family either. What a fun evening!!! Ding-dong's are my favrorite by the way, but they have to be frozen!!!
Frozen Ding Dong was my favorite growing up. Yum. Tracie
