You're my favorite

My favorite girls.
I always tell my kids "You're my favorite". And I mean it.
This is my favorite picture right now.
My friend Tracie took it.
I just love how it captures how I am feeling.

Picutres of Eden- finally!

I was talking to Jana and realized that I hadn't posted any new pictures of Eden. She said Christina had more pictures of my baby on her blog than I did. Oops. Sorry for the delay- call it new mom fog (she will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!)

I don't fit in my own family

Have you ever felt out of place in your own family? It is no surprise that I am the only one who hasn't ridden, dreamed about, and giggled over the newest addition to our family:
Even Elle calls it "my motorcycle". The boys are in heaven. They can't wait each day for dad to come home so they can ride laps around the yard. Someday we'll move on to bigger and more scenic places, but for now they are so happy. Christina says the next thing I need is a white tiger on velvet hanging in my living room, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

I need a new post

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted. I am sick of seeing the same picture when I pull up my blog to look at everyone else's blogs (My neighbor says she makes herself post before she can read- I need a rule like that- someday).
These pictures are from our little hike at Cascade Springs last Sunday. Lots of fun- but I was so hot! I can't always tell if it is the summer heat or that I am so pregnant. Either way, we were all grateful for the shade. The whole way up and back the boys kept talking about how much they want a dirt bike. On the way down we saw a couple getting suited up for a ride. Of course we had to stop and watch them ride away. I may have to give in on this one... so not me... so them... ahhh- the struggle.

What have you been up to?

Many of you have been blogging- which I obviously haven't. Here's what I have been doing, in no apparent order:
Today: I forgot my anniversary. Scott did too. It is our 10th (kind of a big one). Whoops. At least both of us forgot and one of us didn't look insensitive. We laughed so hard when my mom called to say "congratulations". So Scott hurried and called grandma Susan to save the day and we went to dinner with no kids. Not bad.

Maybe one of the reasons we forgot our anniversary was today was because we celebrated last month by going to Oahu, Hawaii:

Yep, we took our kids. We went with Scott's parents too. It was great fun. We packed our days with as much fun as we could. I think we went to a different beach everyday. The flights were tough, but worth it.

The day we got home, we went to the doctor for our ultrasound to check on the new baby. We were thrilled to hear that it is a girl!
A GIRL!
If you ask me in person, I almost can't say it without giggling. I just love the idea that Elle will have a buddy in her family just like the boys do. Especially after watching Davis and Cam play in Hawaii, I think I am more excited. Hopefully they will get along.

My sweet boys gave me a Mother's week instead of a Mother's Day. They gave me sweet little surprises everyday that week- it was so nice. On Friday, the second graders hosted "Muffins for Moms"; a program where they sang songs and spent the afternoon with us. I cried, of course. I am not sure if the pregnancy played into that, but it was still super cute.

For Mother's Day I made a calendar (with the help of my super talented friend Christina) for my mom and mother-in-law. I asked Kim and Jana for pictures to help me make the calendar for Susan. Kim sent me this one of the whole family from her wedding in March. I realized that I haven't posted about this significant event in our family. Kim and Shawn are a great couple- together they have 4 girls. We are so excited for them.

Easter was a lot of fun this year with all of the girls. Our boys have decided that girls are taking over the family (and we are doing our part- yahoo!).

Conference- and a new post

So I realized that the month of March went by- no post from me. I still haven't put any new pictures up on the computer. On my "to do" list: free up computer space. Other than that, I am looking forward to General Conference this weekend and thought I would pass along the link to the conference packet that I love. It has helped my boys (Elle will only color for a minute or two) during the sessions. Enjoy.

It's about time

It's about time-
1. That I free up some space on my computer so that I can download the pictures from my camera. (yes it is that bad)
2. That I do a new post.
3. That I go to the doctor- since I am 13 weeks pregnant. Yep- #4 is on its little way- hoping to make an arrival around September 4, 2009.

Okay. Check on the last two. I went today. We heard the heartbeat- always great. We took a tape recorder so that we could let the boys listen. Elle was with us- I am surprised at how much they all love to listen to that new hearbeat sound. It is magical everytime. We keep rewinding and listening again.

The icing on my birthday cake

My best friend Christina posted about our adventures together for my birthday. It was a trip down memory lane for me- what a sweet friend. You can read it here. I cried-she knows how to remember the best details I forget. I really couldn't ask for a better friend. What a great end to my day. The rest of the day included a PTA meeting, storytime at the library, helping with homework, and dinner out with Scott - no kids!- thanks to Ron and Susan.
P.S. If you are looking for a great place for a night out, my recommendation from tonight is Faustina. Atmosphere. Food. Perfect.

Where were the Twinkies?

How did we miss the Hostess poster child- the Twinkie??? We're not doing it over though, don't tell my kids.
P.S. Twinkies would be at the bottom of mine and Scott's lists anyway. They were a part of the original discussion- just an oversight when we were at the store.

What's your Hostess ranking?

Against all that I believe about feeding my kids, Scott came up with a brilliant idea to sample (and rank) all of the classic Hostess products as a family. It all started one day when we were talking in the car about the Hostess treats of our childhood- and our kids had no idea what we were talking about. So of course we had to buy one of each, sample them and rank them from favorite to least (we tried Ding Dongs, Snowballs, Zingers, Cupcakes, Fruit pie (blackberry), and Ho Hos). ughh- even listing all of that makes me gag- but it was fun.
Here are the #1's:
Elle: Ding Dong
Cameron: Ding Dong
Davis: Snowball
Courtney: Fruit pie
Scott: Fruit pie
What is your favorite?

Bluebird Day!

When it snows- I secretly love it- as long as I don't have to drive anywhere because I know that days like this aren't far away.

We spent New Year's Eve day at Park City. We had a great day. Cam is really getting it this year so we can all ski together- such fun! I think Scott and I enjoy skiing more now that our kids love to do it too.
