Disney- here we come!

Well- spring fever has gotten the best of us. We finally booked the vacation we have been talking about for a while- Disneyland. We are DRIVING - hopefully it will work out (3 kids+1 car+ 2 days of driving = happy family memories?). When we told Davis about the vacation he was happy until we told him we were driving. He promptly sat down and started to pout. Can you say "entitled?" Scott and I were beside ourselves. Thankfully he snapped out of it and is now looking forward to the trip. We are getting excited and can't wait to play and see some sun that doesn't trick us with a snow flurry (which happened today! Snowing while sunny- only in Utah).

Expensive round of golf

So- Scott took Davis golfing the other day. Being the cool dad that he is, he let Davis drive the cart. Well- one thing led to another and Davis ended up hitting a 5 foot granite sign. Too bad for us- the sign broke at the bottom- fell over and cracked again- in half. Then comes the really great dad moment- Scott turns it into a lesson in honesty for Davis. They proceeded to the clubhouse where Scott told the guy what happened (Davis driving and all)- unfortunately the golf course said we would be liable. So we are still holding our breath for the grand total- hopefully it will be less than we are fearing (mulitple thousands). We are accepting pity donations of any amount.

Winter's purpose- Skiing

Scott and I have always loved to ski, but now that the boys are getting into it, we enjoy it even more. Like almost everything else, it is so much more fun to see it through their new eyes- it gives us a new appreciation for what we had taken for granted. You've got to check out Cam's elbow as he comes to a stop- so much of his body is thrown into it. And Davis's jump- well... you've just got to see it to believe it. He was okay and wanted to do it again. You can't really tell how big the jump is and how much air he got, but it was huge!

Davis Lost His First Tooth!

Davis lost his first tooth on March 8. He has been waiting for months now. The last time he went to the dentist (last summer), the dentist happened to mention that he had a tooth he would loose in about 6 months. Well, of course Davis was listening and took him quite literally- so he kept asking me; “Mom, has it been six months since I have been to the dentist?” At first I didn’t know what he was getting at- then it dawned on me. Well- the blessed day came and he was so excited. He says it sort of came out “by accident” because he wasn’t trying to get it out at the time. He was trying to tear open the wrapper to his toy from his Carl’s Jr. meal. In the picture he is holding up his tooth and the note he wrote to the tooth fairy.
