We had some swimming lesson trauma two years ago when I signed the boys up for "survival swimming". It works for many kids, but not for mine. They came away with a fear of swimming lessons (even though they could swim pretty well). Even talking about swimming lessons was off limits for some time. We had to get past the tears when we mentioned signing up for swimming lessons again, but it turned out better this time. They were in a group and played games- no pressure. It was perfect. I think we accomplished our goal- to overcome our fear. Bonus- they learned some new swimming skills. Hopefully my next parenting mistake will be as forgivable.

Score, are you wearing a swim shirt? I want one. Cute pictures of your kids. I am proud of you for getting in a picture.
i'm so glad that it is a success! grace has loved all of her teachers there, and has a lot of fun. in fact, she keeps asking when she can do swim lessons next year!
I'm so glad they liked it! We need to go to the pool together.
So cute! I'm glad that it went better this year. I think swim lessons is so important, it makes it easier when they enjoy it.
Chris- It is a "rash gaurd" that I stole from Scott. I went to the pool one day (all day) and ran out of sunscreen after applying to all 3 of my children (love the spray sunscreen, but it runs out SO fast). Anyway, I thought I would be okay without sunscreen (Adri would be so mad at me) and I wasn't. I burned my shoulders- so I wanted to make sure I was covered up- thus the rash gaurd. I am now a big fan.
Our kids will swim with the water noodles but are still afraid to try "real" swimming. We usually just swim at the neighborhood HOA pool or when on vacation, but I should probably do lessons....
So Ron will be excited that I found your blog through Andrea's. He has been asking me to find it ever since we started blogging. How are you guys? We are lovin' the life in DC. We seem to move around so much and are TERRIBLE at keeping in touch. Thank goodness for Griggs. Where are you guys now? What's going on?
